Thank you to Markstein Beverages for providing the spirits for our Bloody Mary Bar and to our catering host, FairFirst for the outstanding shrimp and bacon garnish! What a way to get things rolling! This year, we were pleased to offer each player a tee prize that featured a nice bottle of Morning Fog Chardonay, donated by Wente Vinyards and a gift card donated by the PGA Tour Superstore. Thank you Wente Vineyards and PGA Tour Superstore! In both the morning and afternoon rounds, players moved through the course in an “eightsome” group, scoring as foursomes. This made for a round of fun, friendly banter, and a great deal of comradery! Along the way players received a First Tee Ball Marker sponsored by Chevron. While it turned out to be quite a warm day, players were able to find plenty of refreshments along the way; especially on hole #6 where our friends from Pasta’s Trattoria set up the on-course bar! Thank you, Rick, and team. They also enjoyed a special contest sponsored by Mirador Capital Partners! Taking this year’s honors as our top team is Team Borchers (Brett Borchers, Todd Fischer, Dom Greci and Beau Rader). They played in the morning round and finished with a score of 19! After lunch they still had ‘enough in the tank’ to compete … and win our Cornhole Tournament as well! The runner ups were Team Titleist, (Paul Schubring, Mark Christensen, Sam Christensen, and Henry Taylor) who came in just one point behind with a score of 20. Congratulations to both teams for a well-played round! Finally, a special shout-out to our all-women’s team, the Diablo Women’s Golf Group, who finished with a very respectable 26! While we had a $1,000 prize for a hole-in-one on any hole, none was claimed this year. That being said, there were a couple of very close tries… Congratulations to our Closest-to-the-Pin Winners: Hole #3 – Blair Laidlaw (4ft. 4 in.) Hole #8 – Danny Corbin (2ft. 2 in.) Between the two rounds we once again had a great BBQ lunch provided by FairFirst and sponsored by our friends at Workday. To the Workday team, thank you for your sponsorship and support through your team of volunteers! Thank you to Alameda County Supervisor, David Haubert and Pleasanton Mayor, Jack Balch, for joining us and for your kind words. And throughout the event, we were entertained by the Dream Tellers band who could be heard throughout the course! 2025 Recap:
What a Day — Fore the Kids Was a Huge Success!
A massive THANK YOU to everyone who joined us at Pleasanton Golf Center for our inaugural First Tee Tri-Valley “Fore the Kids” Golf Event! From early-morning tee-offs to the final Water Tower Shootout, the day was filled with sunshine, smiles, and community spirit.
The Golf
The competition was friendly but fierce — with plenty of strategy and great shots all around!
- 1st Place: Team Verkada #1 (Score 21)
- 2nd Place: Pastas Trattoria (after a 3-way tie at 22)
- 3rd Place: PNC Bank #1
- 4th Place: Dryden Construction
Closest-to-the-Pin Winners:
- Hole #2 – AM: Kelly French (6 ft) | PM: Nicole Iamranond (7’8”)
- Hole #8 – AM: Derrick Perez (2’5”) | PM: Kathy Kennedy (10’6”)
The Party
The day kicked off with complimentary Bloody Marys and continued with “refreshments” on every other hole — special shoutout to Pastas Trattoria for the fan-favorite bar on Hole #6!
Guests enjoyed Jose’s famous ribs, brisket & chicken for lunch while The Dream Tellers kept the vibe alive with over six hours of live music. 
The Big Win
Together, we not only hit the greens — we surpassed our $25,000 matching-grant goal during the Fund-a-Need call!
