Where is First Tee Tri-Valley located?

  • Pleasanton Golf Center Golf Course is located at 4501 PLEASANTON AVENUE, in the center of the Alameda County Fairgrounds racetrack. 
  • Enter into the Alameda County Fairgrounds from PLEASANTON AVENUE. (“yellow gate”)
  • Turn onto FAIRGROUNDS ROAD.
  • Go past the security gate.
  • Look for the GOLF COURSE sign and the TUNNEL on the right. 
  • When the light turns green, take the tunnel into the golf course. 
  • First Tee Facility is located past the driving range. 

What does my child need to bring?

  • Golf clubs, a filled water bottle, and wear athletic attire. 
  • We have clubs on site for any golfer who does not have their own. 
  • Please tell the coach at check-in if you would like to borrow a set.

Does my golfer need to bring their own clubs? 

  • No, we have golf clubs for participants to use while on site. 
  • Please arrive 5 minutes before class, so your coach can get you set up with a set of clubs. 

What safety measures are in place?

  • Safety is our number one priority. 
  • Our coaches will be strict about when and where golfers can swing. 
  • No golfers will be permitted to swing or practice at the facility before class starts or after class ends. 
  • Coaches will also have safety zones where golfers should stand when they are not playing. 
  • If a golfer cannot follow proper safety instructions, they will be asked to sit out.

Is class canceled if it’s raining?

  • If weather forces us to cancel class, a notification will be posted on FirstTeeTriValley.org.
  • We will also send a message to the email on file. 
  • If you have not heard anything, then class is still on. 
  • If the class is rained out, an additional class will be added on to the end of the session. 

What happens in case of rain/heat/smoke?

  • In case classes seem uncertain due to weather conditions, please check FirstTeeTriValley.org on the day of class. 
  • If class is cancelled, we will post a cancellation notice by 2pm for weekday classes, and 8:30am for Saturday classes. 
  • If class is cancelled, we send a message to the email on file, letting you know that class is cancelled.  

What age can my child start the program? 

  • All new players begin based on their age:
    • 5-6 years old
    • 7-9 years old
    • 10-11 years old
    • 12-13 years old
    • 14-17 years old

When is the next session?

My child will not be able to make it to class, can he/she attend a different class/location to make up the absence?

  • For safety reasons and effectiveness of the class we do not offer make ups for missed classes. 
  • Exceptions to make ups are made when classes are cancelled due to rain, excessive heat. 
  • In these cases, our office will contact the class to schedule the makeup date.

My participant is an advanced player, are there classes available for higher skilled players?

  • Yes, there is a coach approval requirement for these classes. 
  • An assessment is given to each participant once during the session. 

How does my child progress through the program?

  • Participants move up through the levels as they age into the next age group

Do you offer any discounts?

  • No, we do not offer discounts. We keep our rates as low as possible for all participants. 

How many kids per class?

  • Ages 7-17, First Tee facility, 10 golfers per 1 coach and 1 volunteer.
  • Ages 5-6, First Tee facility, 6 golfers per 1 coach.
  • PGA Tour Superstore, 6 participants per 1 coach. 

How do I request a refund for an 8-week Program?

  • Submit an email cancellation to Program Director, Jackie Garrigan at [email protected]
  • If you notify us prior to the start of the session, we will refund 100% of your registration fees.
  • Prorated refund after classes begin up until the second week of programming.
  • No refund will be issued after the second week of programming
